In May when the dandelions are in full bloom,
so are the Goldfinches...
They look like they are going to prom in their yellow and black tuxedos.
The warblers are coming home.
I like his bandit mask.
This warbler is someone's wife.
The Rose-breasted Grosbeak has found our seed.
The tulips bloom....
....and bloom....
And so do the tiniest violets.
Spring in the northern prairies is a true celebration.
I love all your pretty pictures AND your heavy-duty home-made bird feeder! You need that for those Montana winters, I bet! =0]
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see spring has come to your part of the world! We have a flock of goldfinches in our neighborhood--what a delight!

Spring really is a celebration isn't it?! I just love all the new life too..I walked today and it was so awesome, loved the breeze and the smells, everything is alive again! Come say hi :D
ReplyDeleteOh, Jody! This is so gorgeous! I have a toy Rose-breasted Grosbeak. You have so may incredible birds. Why are the birds that come to my feeder all brown? Thank you for sharing yours. Spring time in the prairie is truly miraculous!
ReplyDeleteCelebrating Spring with you! Such lovely nature shots from your beautifully rugged prairie. Our tulips are just about spent, but lavender and voilas are coming on strong. Our youngest piXie loves birdies and keeps binoculars and a field guide on the windowsill. She will love your photos. I restored my blog today and look forward to reconnecting, as time allows.

ReplyDeleteJody,
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing such wonderful glimpses of your Farm/Ranch. You know just Sunday I saw a little yellow bird fly to our Cottonwood tree. I didn't know what it was but after seeing your photos I am betting that it was a GoldFinch :) Thanks for sharing and have a great day!
