I picked up my baby chicks at the feed store yesterday.
Aren't they the sweetest?
They like to huddle together when it's chilly.
These chicks are in a sunny window for the moment and seem to enjoy the warmth.
This year I bought White Leghorns, Barred Rocks, and Red Star pullets
which should lay eggs by fall.
Eighteen chicks in all.
On the way up to the mailbox, I spied a newborn calf and his mama.
He's still got all that sticky, yellow stuff on him, but mama is busy licking him off.

Very dear, Jody! So Frances, you must have decided "yes" !
Awwww, how fun it must be to live on a ranch. Thanks so much for sharing it with us Jody. I love your happy, spring, new-life posts!
Oh such cute little babes for sure!
Love the little chicks...
Those cow mamas are impressive. They have their babies out in the field and can fit back into their regular clothes right away!
Sweet babies, oh I love Spring! :)
Such cute little balls of fluff!!
I had a full Easter as well - and I know that feeling too...
