For the birds....

Common Yellowthroat

Yellow Warbler

And this showed up in my flower bed
right after the snow.... Pasqueflower.
It's the South Dakota state flower.

  1. Great bird photos! And I love the Pasqueflower. We're visiting South Dakota in October and I didn't know about the state flower. Thanks for sharing your photos and the information.

  2. I'm just catching up -- I can't believe how much snow you got on May Day! When I said I was enjoying the glimpses of spring around blogland, that definitely wasn't what I had in mind LOL! However, all your lovely bird pictures are EXACTLY what I was talking about!

  3. Thanks for stopping by Junie and Thimbleanna. It's so exciting when the snow clears off to reveal the flowers and birds that are coming "home."

We hae many cardinals and blue birds...but not much yellow. I have noticed that the butterflies are back! Keep posting those birds, they are beautiful. Dianntha

  5. Great photos! I don't take my SLR camera on our all-day birding trips because it would make my pack heavy. But I think that even if we did, I couldn't get photos like those. I'm especially impressed that you captured a flitty Yellow Warbler!

I've just scrolled down and I can't believe you have Wilson's Phalaropes! Going to go read every word...

  6. Pasque flowers are beautiful. It's fascinating to see how your bird life differs from ours, here in the UK. ;-) Sal
