I watched these beautiful creatures hunting mice in the hayfield this morning while I raked hay. It was one of those days that I wished I had my camera and didn't.  At least I had my eyes and the photos in my mind.  I enjoyed every moment watching them as I drove up and down the field.

  1. I'm always sad when something happens that I want to remember and I don't have my camera. I read somewhere that when this happens, you should just write about what you saw -- as a reminder to recall the picture in your mind. I love that idea and we have our blogs to help with it! It sounds as if your days are nearly perfect this summer -- I can't imagine much that would be more wonderful than being outside working and enjoying this beautiful world!

  2. I love watching hawks too. I bet it is wonderful to watch them in your hayfield, as they hover in the sky and then dive. Your hay field looks wonderful so big and the sky so blue. Wow, 3000 bales is wonderful!
So glad there aren't bales. So glad you have your salt with you. Amazing mineral, salt. :) Have a wonderful day.

  3. We have redwinged hawks around here, and they're magnificent. For my birthday I received "H is for Hawk" by Helen MacDonald. Have you read it? I haven't yet, but it's supposed to be very good. I'll let you know!

  4. Wow! How amazing to see, Jody!
    Do you ever see owls?

  5. I think I'm getting spoiled to having a camera handy, even if it's just on my phone. Good for you for exercising your mind and focusing on those details you don't want to forget!

  6. They're beautiful! Glad you were there.
