It's what's for supper!
Meat: I sliced beef steak very thin,
marinated in olive oil and the spices used in this recipe, and grilled it.
Sliced green peppers & onions, sauteed lightly
Tzatziki Sauce (I made mine chunky)
on Pita Bread
I had never made pita bread before and it was EASY!
You could even make it with frozen (thawed) bread dough.
If you don't have a baking stone (I don't) I just used a wire rack that I cool cookies on.
Lay it on the rack in your oven and load two pitas at a time.
Oh Yummy!
Yum! I love gyros! I like the wire rack tip...
ReplyDeleteG'day. That looks delicious. Maybe one night on the weekend we will have that for dinner. Take care. Liz...
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks VERY tasty! You are such a good cook, Jody!
ReplyDeleteGosh I haven't made these in so long, thanks for the reminder. Your pita bread looks so yummy. I might have to try making mine I never have before, I bet it would be so much better than the kind from the store.
ReplyDeleteThat looks delicious. I've made pita and enjoy it, I can grill steak and peppers and onions, but I'm hitting the link to Tzatziki sauce because I've never even heard of this!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
Looks tasty, Jody! (Do you ever eat your lambs or are they just for wool?)
ReplyDeleteW.W.,
ReplyDeleteYes we do eat our lambs. We sometimes butcher one in the fall when we get ready to take the wethers to the sale barn. It's delicious.
Yum! This sounds good for a hot day!
ReplyDeleteI love gyros, but I don't know how to pronounce the word "gyro" so I never order them. Isn't that sad?
ReplyDeletePita is crazy-easy to make, isn't it? And homemade is so much better than what you get at the store (as with most things). Yum!

Oh yum! Gyros are one of my favorite things. I'm always on the look out for the best place to find them in Dallas. I've never tried to make them but just might have to try your recipe.
