All creatures great...
and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
The Lord God made them all.
He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell,
And lips that we might tell,
~Cecil Frances Alexander

Is it any wonder that our Lord Jesus was born in a lowly place amongst the creatures, great and small? I know the song, Friendly Beasts, is just a sweet old English carol, but I like to think of it when I'm out walking in nature this time of year.
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD!
~Psalm 150:6

I fancy I can breathe that snow air, GL! All things bright and beautiful and clean and pure and true.
ReplyDeleteI'm praising the Lord with the creatures great and small. Beautiful photos to go with the verse...
ReplyDeleteWow! You did a great job with the photos. They go with the poem beautifully. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures and thoughts, Jody. You are surrounded by some really wonderful creatures!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your photos...and I can hear the song in my head as I read your post!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos that are wonderful with the poem!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so beautiful - we have dry, cold sunshine today, but snow is very rare here. I never knew that carol before! I can imagine verses for all the animals around us here, too - I can quite see why you like it so much. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos to go with this well-loved hymn, Jody. I trust that you're week will be full of God's blessings.
ReplyDeleteJust excellent! I love the way you married the pictures to the verses. I am going back to listen to the music.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite childhood hymn! Such an astonishing counterpoint..your snow & our summer. It is extra nice that you feed your birds in winter with birdseed cakes..it must be so much harder for them to find food than here. What is the bird in your first picture..not one I recognise? Blessings x
ReplyDeleteSnow is so peaceful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed! Is that a rose-breasted gross beak?
ReplyDeleteThe owl is GORGEOUS!
I love the way Miss Hickory ends. This song reminds me of that story.
This is fantastic, gorgeous , Awesome pictures, lovely post.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post. And perfect timing for me as my grandson and I were just delighted to spot two wild deer run through his yard last night. Thank you for a sweet blessing.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Jody-thank you!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous! Thanks for sharing the sights and the songs, Jody!
