I sometime enjoy an egg and toast for supper on very tired nights .Dottie
That toast is beautiful! Thick buttered toast is always high on my list. The hot chocolate--also grand, but right now my favorite thing is Pumpkin Spice tea. It smells divine (tastes okay--the hot choc would taste better!).xofd
Hot buttered toast definitely, but for it would be a cup of tea to finish it off :)When I'm on my own a plate of spaghetti drenched in black pepper and parmasan cheese is a must. 8-)
yumm, yumm xoxo Clarice
Oh my -- I never thought toast would look more delicious to me than chocolate, but it does! What yummy bread! I also love buttered toast, and have it for breakfast every morning. For a light supper alone? Usually a bowl of cereal.
Mmm mm - a cosy supper!
Oh Jody! Your post reminded me of one of my favorite kids' poems- (sorry so long) Animal CrackersAnimal crackers and cocoa to drink,That is the finest of suppers I think; When I'm grown up and can have what I pleaseI think I shall always insist upon these. What do YOU choose when you're offered a treat? When Mother says, "What would you like best to eat?"Is it waffles and syrup, or cinnamon toast? It's cocoa and animals that I love most! The kitchen's the cosiest place that I know; The kettle is singing, the stove is aglow,And there in the twilight, how jolly to seeThe cocoa and animals waiting for me. Daddy and Mother dine later in state,With Mary to cook for them, Susan to wait; But they don't have nearly as much fun as IWho eat in the kitchen with Nurse standing by;And Daddy once said, he would like to be meHaving cocoa and animals once more for tea!Christopher Morley (1890-1957)Love, Angie
It all sounds good to me! I'd like to blame my autumnally expanding waist-line on srumditious blog posts like this, but fear there would therein lie no credibility at all!
This is what I shall eat right now. Yum! Butter is sweet.
There is a series of children's books, by Kate Di Camillo, about a pig named Mercy Watson. Mercy Loves hot, buttered toast. He has the sweetest personality. If you have any little ones in your life, these books are worth buying. The illustrations are the cutest!Joyce
