Hot chocolate and buttered toast...

It's just a thing.....
I like hot chocolate and buttered toast together...
especially when it turns cold.
It is scrumptch for breakfast, but this is
my supper-for-one tonight.
What sounds good to you?

  1. I sometime enjoy an egg and toast for supper on very tired nights .

  2. That toast is beautiful! Thick buttered toast is always high on my list. The hot chocolate--also grand, but right now my favorite thing is Pumpkin Spice tea. It smells divine (tastes okay--the hot choc would taste better!).

  3. Hot buttered toast definitely, but for it would be a cup of tea to finish it off :)
    When I'm on my own a plate of spaghetti drenched in black pepper and parmasan cheese is a must. 8-)

  4. Oh my -- I never thought toast would look more delicious to me than chocolate, but it does! What yummy bread! I also love buttered toast, and have it for breakfast every morning. For a light supper alone? Usually a bowl of cereal.

  5. Oh Jody! Your post reminded me of one of my favorite kids' poems- (sorry so long)

    Animal Crackers
    Animal crackers and cocoa to drink,
    That is the finest of suppers I think;
    When I'm grown up and can have what I please
    I think I shall always insist upon these.
    What do YOU choose when you're offered a treat?
    When Mother says, "What would you like best to eat?"
    Is it waffles and syrup, or cinnamon toast?
    It's cocoa and animals that I love most!

    The kitchen's the cosiest place that I know;
    The kettle is singing, the stove is aglow,
    And there in the twilight, how jolly to see
    The cocoa and animals waiting for me.

    Daddy and Mother dine later in state,
    With Mary to cook for them, Susan to wait;
    But they don't have nearly as much fun as I
    Who eat in the kitchen with Nurse standing by;
    And Daddy once said, he would like to be me
    Having cocoa and animals once more for tea!

  6. It all sounds good to me! I'd like to blame my autumnally expanding waist-line on srumditious blog posts like this, but fear there would therein lie no credibility at all!

  8. There is a series of children's books, by Kate Di Camillo, about a pig named Mercy Watson. Mercy Loves hot, buttered toast. He has the sweetest personality.

    If you have any little ones in your life, these books are worth buying. The illustrations are the cutest!
