In the Land of the Northern Lights...
In The Land Of The Northern Lights from Ole C. Salomonsen on Vimeo.
You might like to click on the link above for a larger view of The Lights.
This video is a real-time experience of thousands of still pictures and 6 months of work capturing the Northern Lights in Norway on camera. This is what it's like to actually experience the Northern Lights in motion. If you've never seen the Northern Lights *in real life*, this is your chance. Thank you Ole!
If you want to be updated on the next big display of the Northern Lights, keep watch over at Sky & Telescope. You can also find updates on what you are seeing in the night sky by clicking their side link called This Week's Sky at a Glance.

G'day Gumbo Lily. That is just so beautiful. Isn't nature wonderful? We really do live in an amazing world, when you can see something like that happening. Take care. Liz...
ReplyDeleteOh that was so very good Jody, it brought back many memories for me. It was quite exciting to see some of the places Amy and I went to when chasing the lights. We only had a week; 6 months of seeing so many different views of the lights must have been awesome. x
ReplyDeleteThey truly are amazing! They're almost surreal. I'm wondering if we could have seen them here. We've been having such dark wet weather though, it hasn't been worth it to get up and have a peek. Thank you for sharing this video with us. I can't wait to show the rest of the family!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Deborah
Incredible! I'll have to show that to my students!
ReplyDeleteAwesome - we see them here occasoinal but they are usually white not green. I saw them once in Manitoba - they were multi-coloured and I could actually "hear" them - they sounded like electrical wires humming. So very cool!
ReplyDeleteoops - occasionally. Got so excited I didn't check my spelling :)
ReplyDeleteWow! It's beautiful but like something out of an Aliens movie!
ReplyDeleteReally incredible!
amazing video. Thanks for sharing. I definitely plan my Alaska northern lights tours
