Plum cobbler & Plum cute!

Just yesterday I pinned this Summer Plum Cobbler to my desserts Pinterest board, and that very evening, I made it for dessert.  I had a gob of plums from my Bountiful Baskets that were very ripe and really needed to be eaten.  Now let me tell you, THIS is the way to eat plums!  Hubby, who is not a big dessert guy, told me he thought it was one of the most delicious "pies" he's ever eaten.  Check out the recipe here.  My only change to the recipe would be to use a little less lemon zest.

After the Plum Cobbler came the Plum Cute!  I've been itching to sew some summertime jumpers for my grandgirls and here is the first of a hopeful four jumpers.  The pattern is from Olive Ann Designs and it's called Jump-N.  This reversible jumper is easy-to-sew and the pattern comes with sizes 1-6.  The shoulders are elasticized so they are easy on-off for kids and parents.  No buttons or snaps.

I love jumpers because they can be worn with T-shirts for summer and long-sleeved T's and blouses for fall and winter.  Are you creating any good eats or sewing or crocheting or knitting?  Do tell.

  1. I love plum "anything". Your cobbler looks delicious. Our plums are just about ripe. The jumper is adorable. I am knee deep in 3 silk pencil skirts for bridesmaids. Jut finished the invisible zippers in all of them and the kick-pleats. I'm doing assembly line and they are moving pretty quickly. Now I just need daughters home to fit.

    1. Silk sewing sounds fussy and difficult. You're a good woman to step up to the challenge of bridesmaid dresses. I'll bet your plums will be extra tasty in the cobbler. Homegrown is best!

  2. Last week during the heat wave I sat in the air conditioned front room and crocheted 5 scarfs for Fall :)
    LOve the jumper!

  4. Hello from Kansas! Cute jumper ♥ I am going to go check out that patyern! I sewed a twirly skirt and started a dress for a granddaughter on a rainy day...yesterday :) I have been knitting a tea cozy in the evening....almost done. I am also embroidering dish towel. I think you would like the design. I will scan it and email it to you sometime this week. Praying you dear father-in-love is doing better! Blessings! Gail

  5. That cobbler looks fabulous, but not as fab as those jumpers! I even had the thought, 'Can't wait to have grandbabies so I can sew them some of those!' My boys are 10 and 14, so I'm pretty sure grandbabies are a long way off. Still, a girl can dream.

I'm knitting socks and chemo caps for my mom. Found some beautiful yarn, a merino wool/silk mix, for the cap. It's very therapeutic to work with!

    1. A girl can dream, to be sure! Grandbabies are simply the Best! The chemo caps sound extra soft and cozy. You're a good daughter to be giving her such nice things to enjoy for your own hands.

  6. Love the name of this post! That cobbler is calling out to me. I'm not knitting or cooking these days. Well...I never knit so that's not shocking but the no cooking part is not normal. That jumper is very cute!!

    1. I couldn't resist using "plum" for both items. That's kinda how we talk too. I hope you try the plum cobbler when your home is back in order from the remodel.

  7. I've been all about trying to get a doll made for my baby granddaughter for her first birthday, but I had not thought beyond that. Now that I see your jumpers I think, Oh, what fun to sew or knit for her! The other girls are "old" now and I guess I didn't have time to sew when they were little, but this is a different season and I will have fun!

  9. This jumper is way too cute! And I like your fabric choice; so sweet.

I'm knitting right now. There are babies being born soon to a couple of younger friends, and I want to have a little something for them.

  10. Me? Knitting or crocheting? All my family company will have to come and go, and stillness return to my home, before I can do that kind of thing again :) Busy August!
