Chilly happy weekend...

It was a cold, cold, cold day here today.  There is a little bit of snow on the ground and quite a lot of frost.  We had foggy mist for two days in a row which collected on the bare tree branches and then it turned frigid.  In the afternoon sun, the branches looked like glass.  YoungestSon came home for a long weekend from Tucson where he goes to college.  He says he has officially arrived on the Frozen Tundra.  Yes indeed!  From 95 sunny degrees to a raw 15 degrees is a great leap.  The whole family was out to the ranch today for a visit.  What a Royal Rumpus we had!  There were squealing little girls, rough-housing, gun-shooting young men, chatty grandmas, napping grandpas, and visiting mommies.  It was great -- the stuff memories are made of.

  3. It sounds like a grand time. It was 3 degrees last night and a whopping 14 degrees today. Guess we can't hide from old man winter. I like how you are dealing with the cold. Family.

  4. Beautiful photos. Glad you had a wonderful time. Stay warm. We had almost 2 feet of snow which was great as we need the water desperately and the ski resorts are thrilled.

  9. No frozen tundra is going to keep our Jody down. That I know full well. But brrrrrrrrrrrrrr, girl. I've been freezing all day and it is only in the 40's here. I am pretty sure they had the a/c running at the church where I had bible study this morning and I made the mistake of sitting under the vent. Second mistake was to drink two cups of coffee before going.
Sounds like an joyfilled time with your family. Stay warm!

  11. M.K. is right about the heart-y family warmth. You can tell your son appreciates that kind, he is so willing to show his preference by leaving sunny Tucson. Your descriptions of the scenes both natural and human bring us there as well.
