  1. Wow, they're loud! Here in the South, we call them grackles. Have you heard that word?

  3. I wonder what they are shouting about. Maybe they are saying, "Yahoo! Spring is almost here to stay!"
Thank you for letting me use the feeding lamb photo. I'm going to show it to the kids next week.

  5. I love how they can go from so loud, to silence, to back to loud just like that.

  7. MK,
We have grackles up here too, but these are blackbirds -- red-winged and yellow-headed.

  8. I haven't seen red winged blackbirds here at our new house but when I dropped Anna off at the stables the other day I saw a flock of them there in the donkey field. I see bluebirds and scissortails there, which I also never see here. It is only two miles away but I guess it is all the open field they like. Come to think of it I saw the first robins this year there. It is all I can do to stay on the road during that drive because I want to look around at everything. =)

  9. Them's some loud birds!

Today I saw two crows chasing a hawk out of the trees. Talk about loud. Yikes!
