It all started when I was out and about Blogland when I came across a new-to-me blog called
Giggleface Studios. I loved Tracey's embroidery things and especially her tinted embroideries. You must go take a look-see at the embroidered and tinted state blocks she's doing. Wonderful! Anyway, I saw something tucked away in her little
green suitcase that I just had to try! Ric-rac flowers with embroidery. Well, I did it. And here they are.....
This was so much fun that I'm going to try it again. I have a few packets of Aunt Betty's old ric-rac -- probably from 1940 or so -- and I'm just going to use it. Wouldn't she love these?
Thanks for the inspiration Tracey!
They are beautiful...such nice work. Dianntha
ReplyDeleteOh how sweet! That's just cute as can be -- makes you wonder about all the other fun designs that could be made with ric-rac!
ReplyDeleteI'm inspired. I may have to dig through my collection of old ric-rac too! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThese turned out fantastic! You beat me to it though, so I guess this means you need to make a tutorial :)
ReplyDeleteAwwww, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEmbroidery always flashes me back to my childhood. Mom and Grandma's dishtowels were always embroidered.
Wedding showers at our church still bring out the embroidery by the older ladies. I wish I had been married there, I'd have a set done by those dear ones.
