I really like how the mom has quit reading her magazine/book and is now watching her daughter. But I gotta say none of my children could have ever painted on a carpet like that (and in a dress) without it being way more messy than this picture. Who am I kidding? I am not sure I could paint like this without a mess. The soft colors are soothing.

What a lovely painting! I really love all the greens and subdued colors, and then how brightly the child stands out in her pink dress.
